Sara Kärpänen is a visual artist exploring the initiatives to perceive, make and exhibit art in urban surroundings and 'non-art spaces'. She has a degree in Visual Culture and Art in Public Space (MA) and over eight years experience in communications. Combining both her interests, she paints, photographs, curates and writes about art and urbanism. Sara is interested in creating more liveable urban environments and exploring art as a tool with which to engage communities.
Sara lives and works in Hackney Wick, East London.
