Dalston Eastern Curve Garden in Hackney is a popular community gathering place which brings much needed trees and planting into a built up area severely lacking in public green space.

The Garden was created in 2010, arising out of a Design for London initiative 'Making Space in Dalston' which brought together architects, landscape architects and Dalston residents and community and cultural organisations to identify ways of using derelict or underused spaces for the benefit of the community at a time of rapid change.

Marie Murray and Brian Cumming have lived in Dalston for over 20 years, are active campaigners in the area, were involved with the creation of the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden and now manage it as a social enterprise.
