Isaac Marrero-Guillamón works on the intersection of urban regeneration and critical visual practice. He's been doing research and organising public events in Hackney Wick since 2011. His project The Militant City investigated the relationship between critical art, processes of urban renewal and the production of spaces of dissent in the context of the London Olympics. Part of this work was published as The Art of Dissent: Adventures in London's Olympic State (Marshgate Press, 2012, co-edited with Hilary Powell). He also edits The Wick newspaper, published by See Studio. He's currently lecturer in anthropology at Goldsmiths, University of London.
