‘East London Lives 2012’ is a living archive project recording and reflecting the experiences of people living in five East London boroughs toward the hosting of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The archive hosts recently created material from academics at UEL and others - films, oral histories, maps, community profiles – so that you can find information about the possible impacts of the Games so far and the background of the area. There’s also a collaborative portal for you to join, make friends and contact other people interested in developments toward 2012 and have your say on what you think the impacts are’
‘East London Lives 2012’ and the Wick Curiosity Shop joined forces over the summer, WCS interviewed some of the shop’s contributors for the project. We also launched ‘East London Lives 2012’ at the Hackney Wick Festival in September 2009 at the shop.
