Mara Ferreri

Mara Ferreri is an urban researcher interested in the potential of temporary art/activist practices in spaces of contested urban transformation. After an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths College, in 2013 she was awarded a PhD in the School of Geography (Queen Mary) with the thesis Occupying Vacant Spaces: Precarious Politics of Temporary Urban Reuse. She has researched the values of temporary uses in Hackney Wick, in collaboration with the art/architecture practice public works. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Govern i Polìtiques Publiques (IGOP), at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.
