Colin Glen is the Vice Chair of the East London Community Land Trust (ELCLT) and acting as Director of Communities on a voluntary basis. He has been around since the start of the campaign for St Clements Hospital Site back in 2008. He has assisted in making the ELCLT bid come together with Citizens UK. A local community leader and spokesperson on behalf of London Citizens, Colin has negotiated with the Mayor of London on numerous occasions to make the ELCLT come to fruition. He has also negotiated with the former ODA and London Legacy Development Corporation in the early stages of Citizens UK bid for the Olympic Park Site. Colin has represented ELCLT abroad in the USA learning best practice with the Champlain Housing Community Land Trust in Burlington Vermont, Community Land Trusts in Cleveland Ohio and the Coopers Square Community Land Trust in New York City which has a similar context to London. Colin is an Incorporated Civil Engineer and construction professional on large scale construction projects, and holds professional memberships at the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Building and Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. He has lived in East London for 20 years, in Hackney, Tower Hamlets and now with his family Leytonstone.
