“Go for Gold!” is an ongoing series of photographs that both depicts and critiques how the 2012 Olympic Games are transforming Britain’s landscape.
Although the Olympic future is still invisible to the naked eye,
it is present in the impending Olympic Masterplan. “Go for Gold!”
highlights this contrast. The images capture the sites’ local past
while the titles represent the sites’ Olympic future. This
juxtaposition of images and titles evokes the discordance of the
present during its moment of transition. More recent work focuses
on sporting venues in central London and across the nation. These
photos broaden the approach to demonstrate how the Olympics affect
the entire country.
This project was shown as part of ‘A Line is there to be broken’ within the TINAG festival.
