Following the publication of his firts book, 'A Licence to Live', Ron Barnes decides to write a book based on the lives of his own parents and grandparents, built around the stories and anecdotes that have been collected within the family.
The book deals with his grandparents who had lived just off Cambridge Heath Road on the border between Bethnal Green an Hackney. He later on charts the various moves of the family in and around Hackney streets. Each character andn each story has been interwowen and reconstructed so as to produce a living record of the lives of three generation of an East End working family.
